Giving youth & veterans ‘a leg up’
Our Mission
Equine Escape Inc. was founded to provide our community with additional resources for “at risk” youth and veterans as they face life’s challenges.
Through the use of horses partnered with participants, certified facilitators and utilization of specific exercises, Equine Escape provides the opportunity for participants to develop a “toolbox” of sustainable life skills.

What is EAL/EAP?
Equine Assisted Learning, or EAL, is a means to which people of all walks of life can receive benefit from the interaction between the individual or group and the equine.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, or EAP, addresses a wider range of needs and can involve various professionals, including mental health therapists, counselors, and certified equine specialists.

This program is designed for any child considered “at risk”. Some examples would include but not be limited to:
- Bullying, anxiety, depression
- ADHD, ADD, ODD, IED, RAD
- Self Harming, Attachment Disorders

- Victims of Sexual Abuse
Veteran Services
This program addresses the needs of our veterans and our first responders.
- PTSD

- Alcohol/drug addiction
- Challenges faced daily in the line of duty
It is 100% free through the support of donations and sponsorships.

Meet the Founder
Rachael has over 30 years of experience working with horses. Rachel’s love for horses and her desire to help others through tough times is what drove her to start Equine Escape. When she found herself hanging out with the horses, grooming them, interacting with them (even mucking stalls!) she realized how therapeutic they can truly be. Rachael is a certified EAL/EAP facilitator and has completed seminars in the OK Corral Series instructed by EAGALA founder, Greg Kertsen.
Donate
Your donations change lives. Your one time or monthly donations are used to feed the animals and support their needs.
Volunteer
We use rescue animals to help our clients! You are not only supporting veterans and youth in your community but also helping rescued horses, donkeys and our other animals.
Events
Check out our special events and come join us to see the animals, learn more about what we do and have some fun!
Meet our Equine Friends
Not only do our four legged friends help our clients, but they often motivate us to keep on going even when life throws unexpected challenges our way. Many of our friends are rescue animals with their own special needs.
